Hello!
Brooke, it is great to hear from you it sounds like you are having an amazing time. I'm sorry about the food poisoning, I hope you are feeling better.
Tyler and I flew back to the states on thursday (thankfully Tyler realized we were realizing then and not friday, which I had thought so me missing flights here and there). It took us all day to get back to Philadelphia when we realized there were no trains running after midnight back to Princeton so we spent the night on my brothers couch and caught a train in the morning.
We spent a day in Princeton unpacking and repacking. Sara got back from the PFA ski trip and we had a chance to catch up and say goodbye, I'll let her tell you about the trip... sounds pretty wild.
Julia and I arrived in Panama yesterday afternoon. Despite all the uncertainty of how we would find our way to Gamboa we got here without incident. It is beautiful! We are a block form the canal and just a short walk from the Gamboa resort an extremely nice hotel, with a pool complete with waterfall and swim-up-bar. Yesterday afternoon we wandered around and found the only store in town, a house that sells goods without a license, they don't even have a sign. But they have most things that you would need: beer, chips... I think that covers it. We unpacked, and our lodging is great. It looks like an old elementary school converted to our needs. There are three rooms with 6 beds each, a dining room attached to a kitchen, and then the classroom. All the rooms have wrap around blackboards, it is a lot of fun. We are about to catch the bus to Panama city and explore the city some and get anything we might need from a mall.
Class starts tomorrow. It sounds like we are going to the jungle, but the schedule has been non-existent or at least elusive.
Much love,
Sierra
